Vintage 2010 Wrap-Up

We saw a hot spell during spring, followed by mild weather conditions during December and January which all provided perfect ripening conditions leading up to “the big day” -  the start of vintage on 15th January 2010.

Warm days and cool nights resulted in ideal fruit development and a steady intake that allowed fruit to be processed in peak condition with minimal interruptions.

Slow ripening eventually lead to a final rush with most fruit harvested prior to significant rain events during March and thus avoiding disease pressures.

White varieties show good varietal expression with a spectrum of delicate through to riper characteristics. Red varieties show good colour and diverse varietal features providing a wide range of blending options.

2010 has proven to be one of the best recent vintages for Merlot, and some outstanding parcels of Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz giving us soft generous wines that we’re all very excited about.
